Cost Savings

The success of PJ Projects in engineering projects and specifically in the Structural Refurbishment has been the “One stop engineering shop approach” whereby the majority of the work is done in-house by our own employees. As a result we have a better control of all the work in the aspects of costs, safety, quality and on time completion.

This approach of contracting offers the client a reduction in costs as the client gets one contractor on site and is not subject to the cost of contract managers, planners; safety officers and the rest of the site infrastructure for each discipline of work.

The client also saves on the normal mark ups of 10 to 15% charged in the contract price to employ and manager all these sub-contractors.

With the buying power in the group we ensure the best possible prices on all our purchases of materials, consumables and PPE.

Safety, Health &  Environment Policy

The health, safety and well-being of all our employees and related stakeholders, whether in the work place or in the environment, is of primary importance to management. In conjunction with our employees, the company will do everything in its power to prevent accidents injuries, occupational illness or the release of materials, which could be detrimental to the environment.

Management accepts responsibility to inform those who may be exposed to known hazards and to develop appropriate operating standards as part of an effective prevention and rehabilitation program. Where emissions are unavoidable, they will be measured, their effect on the environment understood and appropriate action taken to regulate the situation.

Each Director, manager and supervisor is responsible and held accountable for providing a safe and healthy work environment for the employees under his or her jurisdiction and for controlling emissions. They will use well - designed processes, equipment and procedures supported by the necessary employee training and management systems to minimize and control any potentially harmful effects.

Each and every employee is trained and expected to work and act safely at all times and to accept his or her own personal responsibility for preventing and reporting practices, which could endanger themselves and others.  Each and every employee is actively involved with the company safety program of the business and are empowered to “Stop the Job” if they deem it to be unsafe.

The company believes that achievements in safeguarding the workplace and our environment against hazards resulting from our operations are valued equally with other results. Our performance in matters of safety, occupational health, the environment and integrated risks is reinforced by our implementation and maintenance of our Health and Safety Program, which will comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (85 of 1993), and the Mine and Health Safety Act 29 of 1996.
